Mayfield, KY 2009 Demolition Derby

Wes Gargus wins 1st place at Mayfield, KY Demolition Derby.The Purchase District Fair held at Mayfield, KY on May 30, 2009 featured 32 well built cars.  Overall, 12 drivers qualified for the NAPA Auto Parts Crash for Cash Final Show to be held in Paris, TN on September 19, 2009.   

This demolition derby was a hard hitting derby with some of the best drivers in the sport.  The top 10 in points were present to battle it out.  Wes Gargus, Mayfield, KY (pictured to the left) overcame the competition to claim 1st place to win $1,200.  Wes started in the first heat unsuccessfully, then came back from the consolation heat to make it to the feature.  With this win, Wes is currently in 6th place with 98 points in the Crash for Cash Cup.

Finishing a tough 2nd place was Thomas Boshers (pictured bottom right) from Ethridge, TN.  Thomas took a nice 2nd place trophy and a $500 payout for his finish in the Purchase District Fair Demolition Derby.  Thomas won his second heat to make it to the feature his car showed great poise as it took a beating and still ran a cool engine.  It wasn't until the end that Wes finally put the knock out blow to this well built car.  We hope to see more from this young man, and we appreciate the great show that Wes and Thomas both put on at the end.  It was a true state battle as it was Kentucky vs. Tennessee to the end.  Great job guys!  Thomas Boshers takes 2nd place at Mayfield, KY Demolition Derby.Click the link for more Mayfield, KY demolition derby results.

Currently, Kevin Hill, with 164 points remains in the top spot for the Crash for Cash Cup Points Series with 1 win at Erin, TN, a 4th place finish at Benton, KY, and a 6th place fiinish at Mayfield, KY.  Sitting in a close 2nd place in points is Michael Hicks with 152 points and a 5th place finish in the Mayfield, KY derby.  It is still early in the 2009 Crash for Cash Cup with plenty of points still on the table.  Can Kevin hold on to the lead through Camden, TN on June 20th.  Join us at Camden Motor Speedway at Camden, TN on June 20, 2009 to find out.

Benton, KY 2009 Demolition Derby

David Jackson wins 1st place at Benton, KY Demolition Derby.The Tater Day Demolition Derby sponsored by the A&I Fairboard at Benton, KY turned out to be one of endurance. The day was clear with warm weather which helped to bring all the derby fans out to see a great show. The car count added up to 49 full-size demolition derby cars. The crowd attendance was over 2,000, a great number for this venue.

There were 5 states represented by drivers at this demolition derby.  Those states included Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas.  Derby Madness continues to grow and for that we are thankful!  We appreciate the support and dedication that the drivers and fans put into this great sport.  We hope for continued success, and believe that with the best demolition derby drivers and fans around that this will be possible. 

David Jackson, Greenville, IL, (pictured to the left) rose to the top of this highly competitive demolition derby through tough, smart driving.  Again, this derby with a field of 49 cars was one of endurance.  David started the night in the 4th heat and came from the 2nd consolation heat to win the derby and $1,000 plus a great trophy.  He is currently in 13th place for the Crash for Cash Cup Points series with 58 points. 

Finishing 2nd in a battle of all battles was Tommy Barton from Kennett, MO (pictured bottom right).  Tommy Barton takes 2nd place at Benton, KY Demolition Derby.Tommy started in the 1st heat, went on to win in the 1st consolation and ended the night with a $500 2nd place finish.  He is currently in 15th place with 56 points.   Click here for more Benton, KY demolition derby results.

Currently, Kevin Hill remains in the top spot for the Crash for Cash Cup Points Series with 1 win at Erin, TN, a 4th place finish at Benton, KY and 114 points.  Sitting in a close 2nd place in points is Michael Hicks with 102 points and a 5th place finish.  The 2009 Crash for Cash Cup Series is still young, who will rise to the top?  Will Kevin be able to hang on to his narrow lead, or will there be a new leader after Mayfiield, KY???  Join us at the next demolition derby at Mayfield, KY on May 30th to find out...... What?  You don't want to hear the results from your friends now do you???

Erin, TN 2009 Demolition Derby

Kevin Hill places first at Erin, TN Demolition Derby.The Erin, TN NAPA Auto Parts Crash For Cash Demolition Derby was the 2009 season opener.  This venue was a first for the Derby Madness Crew.  The Erin fairboard was more than hospitable and great to work with.  The weather team called for rain, however, it held off and created a perfect setting for a great demolition derby.   

This derby started at 2pm and the drivers and fans packed the area quickly.  There were 48 cars spanned across 4 heats, in addition to 2 consolations and a final feature heat.  This was a very hard fought derby with many hard hits and fast action.  Overall, the demolition derby had very few stops for teaming and driver door hits.  A thumbs up to all the drivers for their sportsmanship and adherence to the rules. 

Kevin Hill, from Kirksey, KY placed 1st and won $1000.  He also currently holds the lead with 60 points in the Crash for Cash Cup points race.   Kevin battled in the 3rd heat to claim his spot in the feature, and then turned it up a notch as he rose to the top in the feature heat.  Congratulations to Kevin Hill for a great demolition derby win!

Finishing in 2nd place and winning $500 was Jeremy Taylor from Hermitage, TN.  He is also currently in 2nd place for theJeremy Taylor Crash for Cash Cup points series with 58 points.  The feature came down to a battle between Kevin and Jeremy as the derby ended just before dusk.  Again Derby Madness would like to thank all of Erin, TN, the fans, and the drivers for putting on a great season opener.
